Boundary Museum Society -
Get Involved
The Boundary Museum Society (BMS) exists to serve both our community and the many wonderful visitors who pass through it. We always have a variety of projects on the go, and welcome any assistance from the community. Below you can learn about current job opportunities, volunteer opportunities, and how to donate.

Work With Us
All job opportunities have been filled for the 2012 season.  Thank you to all those that applied.  There will be student job opportunities again next year so please watch the Young Canada Works site and our web-site for updates.
If you think you might be interested in working for the Museum next year, I would advise prospective student employees to come by the Museum and introduce yourself. (we are friendly!) If you have a little extra time, offer to volunteer - a couple of hours, a day - whatever - you might find something you really enjoy.

Volunteer
BMS is always looking for volunteers to help engage the community, beautify our grounds, or assist with exhibits. We want to help people contribute to our community in a way that is meaningful to them. Examples of volunteer duties might include:

  • Researching artifacts and Boundary history
  • Creating power point slide shows using BMS archival photos
  • Entering archival data
  • Assessioning/Deassessioning artifacts
  • Gardening and/or Landscaping including the research and planning of the Doukhobor Heritage Garden
  • Working with the Granby Wilderness society to develop tours of Saddle Lake
  • Cleaning the grounds both inside and out
  • Assisting staff with luncheons and group tours
  • Learning about the Heritage Flour mill and helping with tours.
  • Spending time in the Woodworking shop
  • Photographing key events and tours
  • Coordinating other volunteers

If you are interested in volunteering, contact us by email at boundarymuse@shaw.ca or by phone at 250-442-3737.

Donate
The Boundary Museum is a non-profit organization, and donations make up a large portion of our funding. We are always grateful for any contributions that can help us further preserve and promote Boundary history.

If you are interested in making a donation, you can donate in person or by mail and will soon be able to donate online.
